Security is very important to BuildersNet and we understand that it is important to you. BuildersNet takes care to ensure that you can make any transactions or purchases we offer confidently using the BuildersNet website.
This Security Policy explains BuildersNet’s policy and practices on how we protect the information collected on this website.
BuildersNet protects, in a number of ways, the information that it holds about its Members.
We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to create a secure transaction environment for commerce on the Internet. SSL is the industry standard for e-commerce website security. If your browser is equipped with SSL, when you carry out a transaction on the site, all the information communicated between your computer and the BuildersNet website is protected by encryption. Whenever you see a key icon in the status area of your browser, your communications are protected by SSL.
If your browser is not equipped with SSL, or if you are at all concerned about sending information such as credit card details over the Internet, you can still use BuildersNet. You can choose to send the information by post, facsimile, over the telephone or email to us via our Contact Form.
All BuildersNet servers that store Member information are protected by firewalls, and any personal information that we hold about you is protected internally from unauthorised access by a range of security mechanisms and procedures.
All Credit Card information provided to us is processed using a stand-alone Eftpos system NOT connected over the Internet and no details are stored on systems accessible via the Internet. Therefore requests to undertake activities such as topping up of Member accounts used for purchase of goods such as Standards Online is conducted via return phone call only in response to a online, written or phoned request and will require authority and user identity reference checking by methods such as correct response to the account security prompt question provided during Membership applications.
